Beta testing for the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework tools and guides will close 14 October 2022. Feedback is encouraged from NDIS providers, workers and participants to assist in trialling tools to support quality service provision and workforce planning.

The Workforce Capability Framework describes the attitudes, skills and knowledge expected of all workers funded under the NDIS. It provides clear, practical examples and establishes a shared language of ‘what good looks like’ for participants.

Five new tools and related resources were developed and launched for testing to the public after working closely with sector stakeholders. The extensive Workforce Capability Framework and tools are valuable for participants, providers and other workers, trainers and training organisations involved in NDIS work as it demonstrates the expectations of workers and providers delivering NDIS services.

The tools and guides are online with some available as downloadable Word, Excel or PDF documents and you can access the feedback form on the top right-hand side of the webpage for each tool or resource.

This is a tool for service providers to assess current workforce management practices and plan for the workforce required. Available as a downloadable Excel document, the application provides an overall understanding of different aspects of workforce management and enables detailed planning.

Useful for NDIS providers and participants who hire their own workers. It supports the development of position descriptions with the ability to be used online or downloaded.

The guide provides step-by-step guidance and tips for providers and participants, with a capability-based approach to recruitment. Resources and templates, including interview templates, assessment scorecards and a letter of offer template are available for download.

Valuable for those interested in working in the disability sector, considering users’ attitudes and values, experience and response to scenarios and providing general advice on next steps.

This guide is for existing workers in the sector interested in developing their capabilities and career. Users can explore ways they can expand and develop their capabilities and skills within the broader care and support sector.

These tools can be found on the Tools & Resources page on the Workforce Capability Framework website.
